This event held the concert like many others before, only this time I had the chance to be in the mids of it all. There was a slide for live TV and also a twitter feed for pictures of groups and many others. As people gathered around close to the ending when the music got pumped up all the way the dancing began and people just took it all away with all they got to the man on stage when he sings his hit songs. It was so cool to see it&#8217;s like being at one of those concerts you pay big money for but this was even better.<br \/>\nIt had the same mindset like you would be down in Brazil or in the Caribbean the same vibes as well, people were just feeling like home, until the next time or the next event I will be there once im around to see what else have been added to the pot or the mix that makes the food that much better than the year before, no matter how you put it there will always be a place to dance and eat in the hearts of many people that attend the Brazil Day Festival.<\/p>\n<p><span class='av_dropcap1 av-av_dropcap1-3cd9da5fea0ef5fb27aee617571c39a3'>A<\/span> <span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"><strong>Brief History:<\/strong><\/span><br \/>\nThe Brazil Day takes place every year in <a style=\"text-decoration: none; font-weight: bold;\" href=\"https:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Brazilian_Day\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">New York, NY<\/a> on the Sunday before Labour Day if it falls on the last of August or early September which ever one comes first.<br \/>\nBrazilian Day is part of the official calendar of New York City. The event first ran in 1984 on 46th Street between 5th Avenue and Avenue of the Americas (6th Avenue), which is currently known as &#8220;The Brazilian Street&#8221;. From 2009 on, Brazilian Day also has taken place in the United States (San Francisco), Canada (Montreal, Toronto), Japan (Tokyo), United Kingdom (London) and Angola (Luanda).<br \/>\n<img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"\/images\/spacer.gif\" width=\"1\" height=\"1\" \/><\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" title=\"The Brazil Day Festival 2016\" src=\"http:\/\/ashtonesia.com\/intl\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/stories\/pic div brazil2016.jpg\" width=\"685\" height=\"137\" \/><\/p>\n<p>Brazil Day 2016.<br \/>\nOver time, Brazilian Day in New York has grown larger and has moved to 6th Avenue, between 42nd and 46th Streets, becoming one of the biggest and most famous Brazilian attractions outside of Brazil. Currently, the event takes up over 25 blocks. At the festival, a big crowd attends to see the spectacles and visit the stands in which are sold Brazilian food and products. Baterias de Samba (samba drum and musician groups) play in the street and the people dance. &#8220;Rede Globo&#8221; television has been broadcasting the NYC Brazilian Day in the last few years, making the festival well known in Brazil.<\/p>\n<p>Brazilian Day NYC was created in 1984, by the founder of the Brazilian American Cultural Center (BACC Travel), Jo\u00e3o De Matos. The first event was more of a block party centered on West 46th street between 5th Ave and Avenue of the Americas. Today, this same area is known as Little Brazil, Manhattan because Mayor Rudy Giuliani had this area so proclaimed. In 1984 the festival only showcased arts and crafts from Brazil, as well as Brazilian cuisine, but today it introduces New Yorkers and other visitors to the culture of Brazil.<\/p>\n<p>Brazilian Day has become a mega event, with over one million people from across the US, Brazil and other countries across the globe celebrating. For the music attractions, which feature some of the most famous bands and singers from Brazil, people line up the night before to make sure they will get a good view of the huge stage set in the middle of 6th Avenue.
