The Quality of Tax Dollars after the rebuild.

Coney Island is a residential neighborhood, peninsula and beach on the Atlantic Ocean in southwestern Brooklyn, New York City. The site was formerly an outer barrier island but became partially connected to the mainland by landfill. The residential portion of the peninsula is a community of 60,000 people in its western part, with Sea Gate to its west, Brighton Beach and Manhattan Beach to its east, and Gravesend to the north.
Coney Island is well known as the site of amusement parks and a seaside resort. The attractions reached their peak during the first half of the 20th century, declining in popularity after World War II and years of neglect. In recent years, the area has seen the opening of MCU Park and has become home to the Brooklyn Cyclones minor league baseball team.👣

Heading down the broad-walk I came up on to the pier, as I was passing through I took a look around to the site that was just rebuilt from hurricane sandy from 2012, as I walk around it was nice to see the new benched and structures with their lights and new design it’s a beautiful place to take your friends or family however you have to take notes how bloody some of the benched were that I came across with guys coming down there to fish, it was quite crowded at the time and very filthy. When the people that fish down there fished, they leave all the blood from the baits on the public benches that stains up the new finish of the benched, this will not stay the same we all know but this kind of trashing will only make the property worsen faster by days instead of normal wear and tear over the years.
I was a bit skeptic as to how can this be happening since it’s been so long since the area have been open to the public, I was saddened by the condition and selfishness of the people that fish not being courtesy of others that would like to come there to see the new pier with or the view or spend time with others.

I wanted to know exactly what the situation is really all about since taxpayers, people that like me and others who pay our taxes where do we stand in that area, it was plainly to see that this is all rubbish and have no place for anyone to talk about. As I do expect to get cursed out to mind your own business or even get battened if you only stand up for something good. So, I happen to ask and spoke to three cops that where on patrol on the pier and they told me that due to the public facility some people have no courtesy of others and this is how New York is and welcome to NY, well they are right about that however there should be something being done to keep an area that has been damaged by the storm to be kept in better condition.

As a side note to the people that are coming or going to be going down there for the summer of 2014 and thereafter be ready to have some kind of towel or something to lay under your behind so you will not get stains on you there is also a smell of filth, but I assume it’s the fish and blood stain benches that is giving off the odor. Hopefully with time the area will get cleaned up and be improved for the public but I’m not expecting anything to happen like it always does. Have a happy summer and other times you come to the pier.
