Birds on the Ice

Essence Of Life:
W eek in frames brought to you by Ashtonesia, there is no excuse for not going out to capture the fading time as it passes by, this week rolled in, and it struck me really hard as the Lunar New Year presents itself. My time was very occupied for the fireworks as they lit the night sky, but I know the parade is close and one of the finals of the shows. Anyway, this week I got ice in my lenses, lots and lots of it, since the city went through another winter storm flooded with snow bathing the streets and top of the buildings with nothing but white blankets of ice.
It was a challenge keeping the hands warm but the more you do it the more you get use to how to do it right every time you get frost bite.
01
Frozen falls with the Tiger to the right just in case you didn’t see it, on this same day there was allot of hype on the media over the Bryant Park Fountain froze over, so I was very confident that over there would be allot of people taking photos of that, so I went out and found a frozen falls of my own to capture and it was more fun I had just getting through the rocks for the shot, February 16, 2015. 02
This grey and white Cardinal was came in very close so I can capture it, I notice the colder the weather the more intimate the birds get. (#)

03
Frozen surface across the lake you can see the ice crystals in there form, the holding weight for these are not much, it’s ok for birds and small animals but for people, no way. (#)

04
As more snow pounded Manhattan covering the road ways and the trees it makes a artistic form and challenging to shoot in very cold conditions. (#)

05
Snow build up over time as it showers down on the surface where the feet where much more than what was broadcast over media tv. (#)

06
Heat kept this vent area very clean and clear giving you a very good idea just how many inches are available at the surface to the ground, it’s enough to make step very high. (#)

07
Basketball courts reamain stranded by another storm while the first one haven’t gotten cleared up in time for another blast of winter. (#)

08
Clearing sidewalks is a must but it’s not something you want to do in a very fast paste, you have to take it one step at a time until you get your area cleared out, February 17, 2015. (#)

09
No matter the time or the season, business in New York is always moving forward, this is one City that really never slows down even in a blizzard. (#)

10
City workers grouped together keeping the bus stops clear from the snow out of the way of the buses that transport people to and from. (#)

11
When the snow falls, it falls and there is no stopping until Mother Nature gives a little ease, capturing this was very cool even when my fingers was frozen in pain. (#)

12
The roots from these fine twigs with there pyramid shapes was very neat on there surfaces on the side of a slope. (#)

13
This Hawk named Pale Male is one of the famous birds of the parks in NYC I had a blast following this bird around, I found that they have increased in population form about 2 years ago, at least to me. (#)

Details of a church window stain design sits up high. (#)

Pearents take there kids for a nice winter sled right down the slopes. (#)

16
Lassy look a like dog, you can call her a sheep dog cause that is what she looks like. (#)

17
Pale Male, my favorite images, I will have them in a nice section called Pale Male the Bird Of Central Park, once the cold weather is lifted I will have it posted before I get super busy again. (#)

18
Pale Male, screaming I am King in the jungle. (#)

A brown and grey Cardinal sits looking on to be fed. (#)

A Chickadee bird, this was the first time I ever saw one of these birds, I was a bit lost to what kind of bird it is until I looked it up, this bird almost never stay still to get a good shot and when it feels like -10 outside it’s no joke sticking around waiting for it to stay still. (#)

This is my Bryant Park replacement image shot more over the first but join together to be a dual piece of frozen ice capture. (#)
